It's a wonderful story about a post-apocalyptic world, leaving the waterways the only safe transportation to get around.
But the road to haven is difficult and the one of the means devised by human survivors – turning into human/animal hybrids may not be sufficient to save mankind.
I love the way he adds quotes of famous poets into his story.
The beginning contains a quote by Jean Baudrillard:
L’eau en poudre: il suffit de rajouter de l’eau pour obtenir de l’eau.
Water powder: just add water to get water.
Here I found an interesting documentary about him, shot in the 80ies.
